Exploring South Africa
12 nights / 13 days in South Africa

Imagine a vacation that takes you to Cape Town, one of the most beautiful cities in the world, to the internationally famous Cape Winelands, lets you spot whales and the Great White shark in Grootbos and then takes you on a photo safari in the Sabi Sands - probably the greatest wildlife viewing destination in all Africa.

South Africa is the most modern, or westernized, country in Africa. It offers you the opportunity to combine the 'modern' joys of Cape Town, the Cape Winelands, golf and luxury trains with some of the very best game viewing in Africa. This itinerary is designed to show you some of the highlights of this magnificent country.

  • 2 nights Cape Grace Hotel, on a bed and breakfast basis. A member of the exclusive Leading Small Hotels of the World, this delightful hotel is ideally located on the Waterfront in Cape Town.
  • 2 nights Le Quartier Francais, on a bed and breakfast basis. This hidden country inn of captivating charm, the Auberge du Quartier Français has amenities to satisfy the most discerning of world travelers.
  • 3 nights Ngala Game Lodge with its 20 luxury thatched cottages with verandahs and elegant cream décor. The Safari Suite is the height of luxury with a butler service, large deck and private swimming pool. Memories of safaris of bygone eras echo through Ngala. Antique-filled interiors, priceless rugs and cut-glass crystal furnish this opulent retreat. The impressive guest areas overlook a busy waterhole.
  • 3 nights at Vuyatela Private Game Lodge on a full board basis. Each of the 8 luxury suites is air-conditioned, with dressing-room, bathroom with outdoor shower, separate lounge, private deck and plunge pool. The view from the Teak deck is into pristine African Savanna with its bounty of animal life. We had water buck and nyala feeding so close to our room they were actually looking in through the window!

We will meet you when you arrive at Cape Town Airport and assist you with checking in at the Cape Grace Hotel.

While in Cape Town you may enjoy private tours of the City, Table Mountain and the Cape of Good Hope. This is a beautiful city with great shopping for African artifacts and some of the best restaurants we have ever experienced.

The Cape Winelands are internationally renowned for their great beauty and fine lodging and restaurants. Le Quartier Francais is one of the finest accommodations and ideally situated in Franschhoek. You will enjoy your private tour of the wineries.

We will assist you with check in for your flight to the Kruger National park where you will stay at the exclusive Ngala Game Lodge. The game viewing here is absolutely fabulous and the accommodations simply sumptuous. Ngala is the only private game reserve in the legendary Kruger National Park, one of the richest and most strategically important wildlife areas in Africa. There are no fences around Ngala, allowing game to move freely. Ngala has exclusive traversing rights over 36,506 acres.

Vuyatela is located in the Sabi Sands area of the kruger National Park. After a short transfer you will be met by your guide and your photo safari will continue.

You chances of seeing the 'Big Five' are very high. Your rangers will go out of their way to put you in the very best positions for photography and the game drives will be experiences you will never forget.

A typical day on safari includes two game drives, one each morning and afternoon when the game is at its most active. During the day you may take short walks with your ranger to explore some of the smaller flora and fauna. You will have free time to relax during the midday hours.

"This is the most exciting safari experience I have ever had. Exciting, luxurious and great fun. Thank you" L.W. Houston
